Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in elementary or preschool settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Requirements
- Valid Washington Special Education endorsement (required prior to start)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Eligible to work in a Washington public school setting
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching students with special needs
- Experience developing and managing IEPs
- Elementary or preschool special education experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
