Our growing law firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of personal injury cases, including investigation, discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel
- Manage case files efficiently using legal case management software (not paper)
- Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather relevant information for case development
- Maintain accurate records of case activities, deadlines, and court filings in compliance with procedural law requirements
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate case progress
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion while ensuring compliance with legal standards
Experience
- Proven Plaintiff paralegal experience supporting personal injury law cases
- Strong knowledge of legal drafting, and document management systems
- Familiarity with legal research tools including LexisNexis
- Experience with electronic filing systems and document review platforms such as Odyssey eFileIL software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and collaboration within the legal team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) for drafting documents and managing case data
- Prior experience handling confidential information with professionalism and integrity
Salary averages between $43,467 and $119,819 annually for the highest tier paralegal and is determine by the firm owner based on the criteria above and have the following experiences to be considered:
- Staff Supervision: Acting as a Paralegal Manager or team lead, which involves hiring, training, and checking the work of junior staff.
- Specialty Certifications: Holding niche credentials like a Certified Litigation Support Professional (CLSP) or a Civil Litigation Specialist designation.
- Workflow Optimization: Designing the firm's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and selecting new software infrastructure.
- Advanced Industry Credentials: While experience is king, elite earners back up their work history with recognized certifications that prove their specialized knowledge.
- Leadership & Operational Management: The highest-paid paralegals usually step into management, reducing the operational burden on the firm's partners.
