Veterinary Ophthalmology Services - Chattanooga is seeking a full-time experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our caring and dedicated team. We are looking for top-notch skills and a positive team attitude that fits with our drama-free practice. Candidates must have the ability to deliver clear and compassionate client communication, proactive assistance in a supportive capacity, and accurate, efficient medical data entry. We are seeking an individual that can become a support asset to round out our team.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Client Communication & Service: Answering multi-line phones, handling check-ins/check-outs, managing client education, triage of medical cases, and coordinating veterinary consultations and referrals.
· Pharmacy Inventory Management: Filling prescriptions, calling in prescriptions, tracking pharmacy inventory.
· Scheduling & Administration: Scheduling appointments (surgeries, comprehensive and progress exams) and managing client records with attention to detail.
· Financial Tasks: Processing payments, managing billing and invoicing, and handling end-of-day reports.
· Front Office Administration: Ensuring the reception and pharmacy areas are clean, organized, and welcoming.
· Medical Support: Triaging emergency cases, communicating with staff to update them on arrivals, maintaining patient records, assisting room and surgery staff with administrative duties, assisting with restraint and diagnostics when needed (cross-training provided).
Ideal candidates must have the following skills and qualifications:
· Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, the ability to handle emotional or difficult client situations with empathy, with great interpersonal communication skills.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and veterinary practice management software (Veterinary Ophthalmology Services - Chattanooga utilizes ezyVet – previous knowledge is a plus, but not required).
· Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a veterinary office is required (cross-training as veterinary assistant is a plus but not required).
· Organizational Skills: Organization, ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, hardworking and detail oriented, with the ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for long periods and, in some cases, assist with lifting
Experience in the veterinary profession is REQUIRED.
