The Front Desk Patient Registration Specialist/Eye Care & Aesthetics Assistant is a valuable position that performs important ophthalmic and aesthetic office duties which include scheduling patients for eye exams and aesthetics treatments, registering patients, correctly inputting insurance information & payments, working incoming and outgoing office email/faxes, providing exceptional customer service, fielding incoming and outgoing phone calls, and a variety of tasks that require planning and organization to meet deadlines and quality standards. Another aspect of this position is providing our patients with information/education/materials regarding aesthetic treatments and products including sales of a medical grade skincare line.
The position requires attention to detail and interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate patient flow within the clinic.
EXCEPTIONAL customer service skills and strong interpersonal communication skills, eager to learn and share details about our aesthetics products and treatments.
- Advanced English usage, spelling, punctuation, and medical terminology
- Ease and comfort learning multiple computer systems for scheduling, optical & aesthetics sales, and electronic health record. Data entry and word processing skills are necessary.
- Decision making skills; able to remain calm and prioritize under stress
- Ability to work compatibly with physicians, management and other staff members
- Dedicated to patient satisfaction; able to use good judgment and tact in dealing with patients and co-workers

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warmly greet and direct patients and their families
- Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries
from patients with professionalism and kindness
- Maintain accurate confidential files and records while checking patients in
* Accurately & consistently gather patient insurance information and patient payments/co-pays* Complete the checkout process for patients and schedule patients’ next eye care or aesthetic appointment* Fluidly discuss various aspects of ophthalmology, aesthetics, and optical needs with patients
- Coordinate medical records and properly schedule patient visits, referrals, and surgeries
- Open, route, sort, and prioritize the daily mail and faxes
- Scan and file patient records and reports
- Basic math and accounting skills as it relates to patient bill processing duties, account management and questions
* Assist with appointment reminder process and patient recall process
- Perform various tasks as assigned

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
