Cyrious Metal Works is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Powder Coater to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing metal surfaces, applying powder coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on fabricated metal products.
The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, maintains a clean and organized workspace, and works well with a team in a production environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sandblasting, masking, and hanging parts
- Apply powder coatings using electrostatic spray equipment
- Monitor oven temperatures and curing cycles
- Inspect finished products to ensure consistent coverage and quality
- Maintain powder coating equipment and spray guns
- Ensure proper material handling and part tracking
- Maintain a clean and organized powder coating area
- Follow all safety procedures and shop standards
- Work with fabrication team to ensure parts are ready for coating
Qualifications
- Experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred
- Knowledge of surface preparation and coating techniques
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to read basic work orders and job instructions
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
Preferred Skills
- Sandblasting experience
- Knowledge of powder coating ovens and curing processes
- Experience working in a metal fabrication environment
- Forklift experience is a plus
