Job Overview
Stone Excavation is a growing excavation contractor looking for a motivated Equipment Operator / Laborer to join our team. We are a small company that takes pride in quality work, teamwork, and getting projects completed safely and efficiently.
Our projects include:
- Residential home pad construction
- Septic system installations
- Site grading and drainage work
- Commercial and civil construction projects
- Utility and earthwork projects
- Occasional subdivision development work
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operating equipment but is also willing to work on the ground when needed. We are looking for a team player—not someone who only wants to sit in a machine.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with septic system installations
- Perform grading and site preparation work
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Assist with pipe installation, utility work, and general excavation tasks
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements
- Work alongside crew members to complete projects on schedule
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience operating skid steers and mini excavators
- Construction, excavation, grading, or utility installation experience
- Ability to read grade stakes and follow site plans
- CDL is a plus but not required
Required:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Dependable and punctual
- Willingness to learn and grow with the company

Pay
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
