Position Role & Overview:
The Product Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Magline’s product portfolio while also serving as a cross-functional project leader responsible for aligning Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing throughout the product development and commercialization process. This role combines product management, project management, and pricing strategy responsibilities to ensure that new and existing products meet market demand, achieve profitability targets, and are launched successfully.
The Product Manager will lead product planning, coordinate cross-functional development efforts, manage product roadmaps, and oversee pricing strategy across both new product development and the existing product catalog. This position requires a strategic thinker who can translate market insights into actionable product initiatives while ensuring strong internal alignment and execution.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through launch, growth, and eventual phase-out.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps that reflect customer needs, competitive positioning, and company priorities.
- Continuously evaluate product performance and identify opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, or expansion
Cross-Functional Project Leadership
- Serve as the central coordinator for new product development initiatives, ensuring alignment between Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Marketing.
- Lead cross-functional project planning, timelines, and milestone tracking to ensure successful product development and launch execution.
- Facilitate communication between internal teams to resolve issues, manage tradeoffs, and keep projects moving forward.
- Support pilot programs, field testing, and early customer validation for new products.
Market & Customer Insight
- Conduct market research in collaboration with VP to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive threats.
- Work closely with sales teams and key customers to gather insights that inform product development priorities.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product requirements and engineering specifications.
Pricing Strategy & Profitability
- Develop and manage pricing strategies for new product launches, ensuring alignment with market positioning and margin targets.
- Oversee pricing structure and adjustments for the existing product catalog, including margin analysis and competitive benchmarking.
- Collaborate with finance, sales, and leadership to evaluate pricing opportunities, promotional programs, and product profitability.
Product Launch & Commercialization
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to ensure successful product launches, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans.
- Support the creation of product training materials, sales enablement tools, and product documentation.
- Monitor market adoption and customer feedback following product launches.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Track product KPIs including sales performance, margins, adoption rates, and customer feedback.
- Provide product updates and strategic recommendations to leadership through regular reporting and presentations.
- Use data and market feedback to inform product roadmap decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product management, project management, or product development
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial products, or material handling industries preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, sales, and marketing
- Experience managing multiple product initiatives and development projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing pricing strategy and product margin analysis
- Familiarity with stage-gate product development processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments, supply chains, and industrial product design
- Prior experience with Asana
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) or product roadmap tools
- Certifications such as Certified Product Manager (CPM), PMP, or Agile Product Owner are a plus
