RB Enterprises is an AS9100-certified precision machine shop in Mukilteo specializing in tight-tolerance turned components for aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial customers. We're a close-knit team of about 30 people where your work has a direct impact on what we ship.
The Role
We're looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Operator to support weekday operations. You'll be setting up and running CNC lathes on a variety of precision components, working from drawings and programs. This is a hands-on role with room to grow as our shop expands into higher-volume production work.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes for prototype and production runs
- Perform tooling changes, insert selection, offsets, and program adjustments as needed
- Machine tight-tolerance turned parts in aluminum, steel, and other materials
- Inspect parts during production using standard metrology equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts
- Follow work instructions, travelers, prints, and quality requirements in accordance with our AS9100 QMS
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Collaborate with programmers, QC, and operations to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience
- Strong understanding of turning fundamentals — speeds, feeds, tooling, boring, threading, grooving, and fixturing
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
- Experience machining aluminum and steel to tight tolerances
- Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software (program edits and offsets at minimum) is a plus
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 preferred but not required
- Comfortable in a small-team, hands-on shop environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
