Gillette’s Interstate RV is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our dealership’s service department. This is an important leadership position for someone who knows how to manage people, organize a busy repair schedule, serve customers, and operate a profitable department.
The ideal candidate has service management experience in an RV, automotive, commercial truck, marine, powersports, or high-volume repair environment. RV experience is preferred, but strong leadership and dealership service experience are equally important.
Reporting to the dealership General Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the service department, including technicians, service advisors, scheduling, work assignments, repair quality, customer communication, and department performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the service department.
- Manage workflow to keep repairs moving efficiently and completed on time.
- Assign and dispatch work to technicians based on skill level, workload, and priority.
- Schedule technicians and maintain proper staffing coverage.
- Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, quality, and billed hours.
- Work closely with customers to provide accurate updates and top-notch service.
- Review repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
- Help diagnose difficult repairs and provide technical guidance when needed.
- Recruit, train, coach, motivate, and retain qualified service employees.
- Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
- Track department sales, gross profit, labor performance, expenses, and other key goals.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure completed work meets dealership and manufacturer quality standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and follow warranty documentation requirements.
- Keep the service facility, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and properly maintained.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a dealership service department or high-volume repair operation.
- Strong working knowledge of service department workflow, dispatching, and repair processes.
- Technical knowledge of RV, automotive, commercial truck, marine, powersports, or similar systems.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate technicians and service advisors.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using dealership management systems (LightSpeed DMS), scheduling software, and basic computer programs.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Professional references who can verify leadership experience and work performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous RV dealership service experience.
- Experience with manufacturer warranty procedures and documentation.
- Experience managing department financial performance, including labor sales, gross profit, productivity, and expenses.
