Job Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator & Administrative Support role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships between the organization and the surrounding community while providing administrative support to the General Manager department. This position plays a key role in outreach, recruitment partnerships, events, and employer branding, helping position the organization as an active and positive community presence.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and attend community outreach events, job fairs, career days, school visits, and open houses

Build and maintain partnerships with schools, workforce development agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations

Assist with developing community engagement strategies that support employer branding goals

Create and distribute outreach materials such as flyers, newsletters, presentations, and social media content

Coordinate volunteer initiatives and employee participation in community activities

Maintain community engagement calendars, contact lists, and participation metrics

Track outreach activities and prepare basic reports on engagement and recruitment outcomes
- Assist with the coordination and execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities
Support content creation for social media, website updates, email communications, and print materials
Help maintain and update the company website and social media accounts
Administrative Support
- Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and document management

Support recruitment logistics such as posting positions, scheduling interviews, and onboarding coordination

Maintain employee records and HRIS data accurately and confidentially

Respond to basic employee inquiries and route complex issues to HR leadership

Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communications

Track and enroll employees in appropriate education classes for skill development and appropriate department licenses (CDL, Water and Wastewater Operator licenses)

Support Public Utility Commission (PUC) with agenda and PowerPoint presentation for monthly meetings

Provide notifications to public regarding Public Utility Commission (PUC) meeting agenda

Perform other duties as necessary and/or required
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

0–2 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, human resources, or administrative support
