About the Role:
NeWave Ventures is launching a multi-channel commerce operation (retail arbitrage, online arbitrage, wholesale, etc.) selling on Amazon and other marketplaces. We are hiring our founding Operations Manager to serve as the on-the-ground general manager for our New Jersey market.
This is a build-it-from-scratch leadership role. You will own every physical and logistical decision in the market — from sourcing productivity to office throughput to inventory discipline — and you'll hire, train, and develop the team that scales underneath you. As the business expands into new geographies, this role becomes the blueprint for operations leadership company-wide.
What You'll Do:
- Own the day-to-day operational rhythm of the market: sourcing routes, office receiving, staging, prep, and Amazon shipment creation.
- Manage and develop the team — an Online Arbitrage Coordinator and a ramping team of product scanners (growing from 1 to as many as 10). Run weekly 1:1s and a weekly operations/process meeting.
- Enforce inventory discipline: inventory turns under 60 days, aging stock over 90 days kept below 10%, no single supplier above 25%, no single category above 30%.
- Approve purchases above the team's autonomous buying threshold; escalate edge cases with clear documentation.
- Own the market's SOP (standard operating procedure) library: keep procedures current and ensure every task is documented and cross-trained.
- Monitor performance dashboards daily and flag variances to finance.
- Coordinate on any listing, ASIN, or account-health issues that originate in the market.
- Support readiness assessments as the company evaluates new markets for expansion.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years in hands-on operations management: fulfillment, retail, e-commerce, or logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a small team (2–8 direct/indirect reports).
- Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central or equivalent marketplace operations preferred.
- Strong process orientation: builds checklists, writes SOPs, and follows escalation paths.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and dashboards; can interpret KPI data and act on variances.
- Able to work on-site in the market office; hands-on and detail-oriented.
- Low ego, high accountability — owns mistakes and documents learnings.
Compensation & Bonus:
- Base salary: $75,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Performance bonus: Bonus Structure based on Business Growth and performance
