Job Summary:
This role supports licensed electricians in performing electrical service, repair, and installation work in residential homes while learning the trade and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop hands-on skills, learn the trade, and grow into a licensed electrician through on-the-job training and education.
Essential Duties:
- Assist licensed electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of residential electrical systems and components
- Perform tasks such as pulling wire, installing outlets, switches, panels, and lighting fixtures under supervision
- Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical issues while developing technical skills
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents
- Safely use and maintain hand and power tools
- Load/unload materials and ensure work vehicles are stocked for daily jobs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers when on job sites
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
- Participate in apprenticeship training and ongoing education programs
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked
Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preference:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening (if applicable)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and take direction from experienced electricians
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to grow within the trade
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with
arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks
or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Ability to lift
50+ pounds.
Work Environment/Noise:
Works in indoor and outdoor environments, including
exposure to varying weather conditions. May be exposed to
moderate to high noise levels, confined spaces, heights,
and electrical hazards.
