Apartment Maintenance Technician/Painter for 768 unit apartment rental complex in Vernon, CT with a 7 to 8 person team. Full time job with 5 days(7 am to 4 pm), 42-1/2 hours per week throughout the year. Skills include painting, light plumbing & electrical repairs, light carpentry skills, well conditioned to put in a good day's work, reliability/be at work every day, and other skills related to property maintenance. It's important to reside within 20-25 minutes of Vernon.
We are looking for someone who wants to work hard, be focused, do a quality job, work in an organized and professional environment in a well-managed environment. We provide stability, but we have expectations of all our staff to put in a good day's work and continue to improve and get better every day.
Including $27-$29 per hour+/- (depending on experience and skill set), regular overtime, vacation time, holiday bonus, and on call compensation, opportunities for more hours, plus 401k contribution, full dental, health (HSA), full vision insurance, and life insurance. We're able to avoid laying off workers, there is always work to do for the full year.
Job includes painting turnover units, service calls/maintenance work, preventative maintenance, 24/7 on call approximately 7 to 9 weeks out of the year (for additional $250 per week plus overtime for service call time spent- average 1 to 2 calls per week), and snow cleaning. We have 1 or 2 maintenance crew member work on Saturdays from 7 AM to Noon, so there may be 6 to 8 times a year for this opportunity for extra overtime.
