Job Summary:
The RN Weekend Supervisor oversees nursing staff and patient care activities during weekend shifts. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality care, maintains regulatory compliance, and serves as a resource for nursing staff and other healthcare team members. This employee would participate in the Baylor Program. The RN would be expected to work 24 hours, (2) 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, but would be compensated for 32 hours. The employee would be listed as a full time employee, qualifying for full time benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise nursing staff and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Assess patient needs and coordinate care plans with healthcare team members.
- Provide direct patient care as needed.
- Monitor patient progress and outcomes.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback.
- Conduct rounds to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize patient care delivery.
- Respond to emergencies and provide support as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
