Duties
- Develop customized training programs tailored to each dog’s temperament, age, and specific needs
- Conduct individual and group training sessions focusing on obedience, behavior modification, and socialization
- Handle dogs safely using proper animal restraint and handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and trainers
- Educate pet owners on training methods, pet care routines, and behavioral management strategies
- Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care tasks as needed to support overall well-being
- Maintain detailed records of training progress, behavioral observations, and client interactions
- Support kennel management by assisting with animal handling, feeding, and light cleaning duties
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dog training with a strong understanding of canine behavior principles
- Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint and handling techniques
- Familiarity with pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal care practices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal handling or equipment setup
- Prior experience working with animals in kennel environments or similar settings is a plus
