Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary, ensuring accurate representation of dental structures.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of medical records.
- Schedule appointments and perform duties related to dental reception as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
