Overview

Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of fabrication machinery
- Support the interpretation of mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal parts.
- Use hand tools, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and quality of finished products.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials, finished parts, and equipment within the shop area.
- Perform basic shop math calculations for measurements, material quantities, and tolerances required during fabrication processes.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Assist in the inspection of parts for quality assurance using measurement instruments and visual checks to meet specifications.
Skills
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques such as forming, stamping, and welding.
- Ability to operate hand tools and tooling equipment safely while maintaining precision in measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocol adherence.
- Familiarity with quality inspection procedures for measuring parts during production using precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to support assembly tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Must have valid driver's license
