JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll across weekly and semi-monthly pay cycles in a multi-job manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations while coordinating closely with Accounting and Human Resources. The specialist plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity, supporting audits, and ensuring every employee is paid correctly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

Prepare and process weekly and semi-monthly payroll in Paycom, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Review time and pay registers to confirm employees are paid correctly and hours are charged to the correct job numbers.

Calculate special adjustments, vacation pay, commissions, and off-cycle payments.

Compliance & Reporting

Prepare and submit all payroll tax filings and government remittances on schedule.

Prepare earnings reports as needed.

Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Records & Administration

Process employee terminations in the payroll system and complete required separation documentation.

Administer the accrued/banked time program for hourly employees.

Support internal and external audits.

General

Follow all company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.

3+ years of payroll experience required.

Experience with Paycom HRIS required.

Intermediate Excel skills and general computer proficiency.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

A team player who is energetic, self-motivated, and dependable, with demonstrated honesty, integrity, and adaptability.
Preferred / Plus:

Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements.
