Duties
- Provide attentive care to children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged youth, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Support early childhood development through engaging activities that promote learning, social skills, and emotional growth
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times for infants and toddlers
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive behavior and address challenges with patience and consistency
- Follow mandated reporting laws to accurately document any concerns related to child safety or well-being and communicate appropriately with families or authorities when necessary
- Lead age-appropriate educational activities and play-based learning sessions aligned with early childhood education standards
- Collaborate with families, teachers, or support staff to create individualized care plans that meet each person’s unique needs
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and training in mandated reporting laws are required or must be obtained upon hire
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in youth programs is a strong plus
- Ability to demonstrate patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills in a caregiving environment
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom experience enhances your ability to support children’s growth effectively
