Job description:
- Veterans Range Solutions, LLC dba Veterans Readiness Solutions (VRS), a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) is seeking an experienced Automotive and Diesel Truck Mechanic. The incumbent must possess knowledge and skills in the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a wide variety of vehicle platforms, construction equipment, and ground support equipment and their systems. The incumbent must be able to read and interpret technical and parts manuals. The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to properly utilize a wide variety of hand and powered tools and equipment to complete repairs. The incumbent must be able to evaluate vehicles and equipment to determine level of repair required and must be able to estimate time and materials required to complete repairs. The incumbent must possess a mechanic’s tool set. Primary location for this position is Sanford, NC. Travel to other project locations is expected where required.
Duties:
- Perform accurate receiving inventory of repair parts and supplies from vendors, notify supervisor immediately of any missing or broken items
- Maintain accountability of repair parts and materials and issue to technicians for installation.
- Maintain shop sanitation.
- Ensure shop safety items are present and in working order.
- Assist technicians with diagnosing and repairing all automotive, truck, construction equipment and ground support equipment systems to include engines, transmissions, drive axles, chassis/suspension, brake, electrical, fuel, cooling, computers, exhaust, hydraulics and their subsystems and components.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance on a variety of vehicle platforms.
- Follow safety, environmental, and sanitation requirements in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state, and local requirements and guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all parts and maintenance items are ready for issue to technicians by the end of the week preceding planned maintenance actions or scheduled work orders.
- Ensure all parts are issued and signed for and maintain accountability of all procured items related to maintenance actions.
- Technical edit and order parts identified by technicians
- Communicate with vendors and conduct regular follow-up until all parts/services are received or performed.
- Complete technical reports as required.
- Maintain accountability, maintenance and care of company-provided vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Interpret federal specifications, military standards, and contract specifications and incorporate those requirements into the repair/maintenance process.
- Read and comply with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals used in the repair process.
Experience preference:
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance management
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
