Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting functions across multiple small entities using QuickBooks. This role requires strong bookkeeping fundamentals, the ability to manage multiple sets of books simultaneously, and a proactive approach to maintaining accurate and timely financial records.
Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping and accounting functions for multiple entities within QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, to maintain the general ledger with precision
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, accounts receivable/payable, and balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure data integrity
- Support tax preparation by organizing financial records and working with external CPA
- Monitor cash flow and maintain organized documentation of transactions
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple company books
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within multi-entity environments
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks
- Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting practices
- Maintain and track fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers
- Experience managing multiple entities or accounts simultaneously
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with 1099 preparation and basic tax support preferred
Preferred
- Experience working with small businesses or owner-managed companies
- Familiarity with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Experience coordinating with external CPAs or tax advisors
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (not required)
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
