The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician to join an established, high quality collision repair and restoration shop in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.
This is not a high volume body shop where technicians are pushed to get as many vehicles through the shop as possible. Quality, craftsmanship, and doing the repair correctly come first.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of auto body or collision repair experience and comes from a smaller, quality focused shop where attention to detail and pride in workmanship matter.
You'll work on high end, luxury, performance, classic, and specialty vehicles and have the opportunity to further develop your expertise through company paid training and certifications.The compensation is $100,000 to $150,000, which may be negotiable based on experience.
What You'll Do
- Perform high quality collision repair and restoration work.
- Complete dent repair, panel repair, and panel replacement.
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles throughout the repair process.
- Inspect vehicles and assess the extent of collision damage.
- Identify additional damage discovered during disassembly and communicate required repairs.
- Review and follow OEM documented repair procedures.
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and established quality standards.
- Participate in diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate repair procedures.
- Inspect completed work for proper fit, finish, safety, and overall quality.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to maintain an efficient repair process without sacrificing workmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace.
- Follow established safety procedures and collision repair best practices.
- Complete required training and certifications.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional auto body or collision repair experience required.
- Strong experience with vehicle disassembly and reassembly, dent repair, panel repair, and panel replacement.
- Experience performing high quality collision repairs where craftsmanship and attention to detail are priorities.
- Experience working in a smaller, quality focused body shop is strongly preferred.
- Experience with luxury, high end, performance, or specialty vehicles is preferred.
- Strong understanding of OEM repair procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Ability to diagnose problems and determine the appropriate repair approach.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
- Ability to work independently without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Dependable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative team.
- Willingness to complete manufacturer and industry training and certification programs.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
