Job Overview
Complete Quality Sit Down Forklift Operator to provide warehouse support services under contract for our Weber warehouse located in Chino, CA. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure safe and accurate handling of goods, supporting overall warehouse operations and distribution processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, adherence to safety standards, and experience in warehouse management systems to contribute effectively to our logistical objectives.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Saturdays as needed), Day Shift
Compensation:
Approx. $19 - $21 Hourly (Depending on experience) | Weekly pay via 1099
Responsibilities
- Safely operate sit-down forklifts, including reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and clamp trucks, to load and unload shipments.
- Perform manual handling tasks when necessary, ensuring proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Manage order picking processes using various equipment such as order pickers and pallet jacks to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues, ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Support warehouse management system data entry for inventory tracking, order processing, and stock replenishment.
- Participate in warehouse distribution tasks, including heavy lifting and materials handling to optimize space utilization.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols in production areas.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to improve operational efficiency and safety practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts, with familiarity in using reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and experience with order picker equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments is preferred.
- Understanding of safety standards in production settings, including OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude focused on safety and productivity
