Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and proactive Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, building systems, and grounds to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The ideal candidate has experience in multiple trades, including drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel.
- Repair, patch, finish, and paint drywall in guest rooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit issues.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including faucets, toilets, drains, water lines, and fixtures.
- Maintain and repair HVAC equipment, including air conditioning units and ventilation systems.
- Service and troubleshoot commercial refrigeration equipment when needed.
- Monitor, maintain, and test swimming pool equipment and water chemistry to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Complete interior and exterior painting projects as required.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of guest rooms, mechanical systems, and hotel facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
- Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in hotels, hospitality, commercial properties, apartments, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of drywall repair, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and pool maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance issues independently.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- HVAC, Pool Operator, Electrical, or related certifications are a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience.
- Experience with commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with guests.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
