We are seeking an energetic and experienced cook with a strong preference for pizza expertise to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, specializing in pizza creation, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with a focus on pizza, calzones and homemade dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every creation.
- Handle food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, mixing, and assembling ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area according to food safety standards
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of menu items with precision and speed. Usually we have notice and will know ahead of time! But sometimes short notice so need to know if you can handle pressure under short notice.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook, with a strong preference for those with pizza-making expertise in either restaurant or food service settings
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety protocols
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods suitable for diverse cuisines
- Experience working in fine dining or casual restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
