INTRODUCTION TO MATŪ
Matū is part of the extended family of restaurants that include Sushi Nozawa Group (SUGARFISH, KazuNori, Nozawa Bar,) UOVO and HiHo Cheeseburger. While all four are separate businesses, they share the same passion for great food and share many of the same founders and owners.
Matū is looking to hire a Lead Butcher. Our restaurants are supported by a prep kitchen in Inglewood and we are looking for an individual to take the lead on all beef related items we use for operations.
We are looking for a driven individual who is passionate about his/her work and needs to be upbeat. This team member must be one who possesses a strong positive attitude, has integrity, and is comfortable working in fast paced environments. We have plans to expand significantly in the next few years and are only interested in candidates who are looking to continue to grow with us.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Cut and prepare various cuts of wagyu beef to be served in our restaurants.
- Complies with company quality standards when butchering and ensures the butcher room complies with Department of Health standards.
- Manages stock levels and makes key decisions about stock control, assisting with ordering supplies and merchandise as needed.
- Manages production schedule to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Communicates any technical or mechanical issues to management.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
