This candidate provides compassionate care to clients and patients while taking care of their many needs. Candidates must be friendly, professional and courteous, and capable of handling many tasks at once with frequent interruptions. Multi tasking is required and you must be able to lift 40 lbs minimum. Essential Functions: Prior experience in working in a veterinary hospital while providing the highest quality of care, along with educating clients and assisting doctors. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for customer care and a love for animals and enjoy teamwork.
At least 1 year experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant

- Excellent Organizational skills
- Basic computer knowledge-Avimark is a plus!
- Good technical skills, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, specimen preparation, safe restraint of cats and dogs,
- Experience monitoring sedation/anesthesia is a plus
Duties include:
- Opening/closing hospital while keeping workspaces clean and organized
- Checking in appointments and assisting clients in a friendly and courteous manner, smiles only! Client education is a must!
- Assisting doctors in rooms, surgery, radiology, pharmacy, etc.
- Restraining pets for doctors' exams
- Phlebotomy, surgical prep, autoclaving packs, proper instrument care, filling prescriptions
- Scheduling appointments, surgeries, grooming, boarding etc.
- Discharging surgical patients, ensuring clients are fully educated
- Handle emergency cases appropriately when needed.
- Accurate record keeping
- Helping in other areas of the hospital, (reception or kennel when needed)
Required attributes & Qualities:
- Knowledge of veterinary clinic procedures and terminologies
- Passionate about animals
- Ability to relate with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Exceptional organizational skills to keep work environment tidy and comfortable, as well as perform assignments efficiently
- Must be reliable and punctual-Tardiness and Absenteeism is not tolerated!
- Have outgoing personality
- Professional & neat appearance
- Need to be experienced with animal restraint and care
Previous Experience in Veterinary Hospital is Required.
