As part of your job, you will assist clients who have suffered from injuries or disabilities and help them regain their ability to work. Your duties will include conducting physical assessments of clients, developing treatment plans, evaluating clients' work and home environments, and creating customized physical rehabilitation programs.
Essential Job Functions:
· Providing direct client care to assess their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions and potential for rehabilitation.
· Establish and administer a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patient’s capacity and tolerance.
· Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
· Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable building blocks.
· Assess client’s home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.
· Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
· Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals.
· Collect data and document processes followed.
· Regularly follow-up with clients.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of a Bachelor of Science or master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited academic program.
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of practice as a licensed Occupational Therapist in a clinical setting required.
License/Certifications:
· Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
· Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider BLS CPR certification.
Location: Medical Adult Daycare and Outpatient Settings
Hours: Monday through Friday, Starting at 8:00 am
