At Alpha Inc., we don't hire people looking for "just a job."
We hire builders. Problem-solvers. Teammates. People who take pride in seeing a project rise from the ground and knowing they helped make it happen.
If you're the kind of person who shows up early, works hard, learns fast, and takes ownership of your craft, keep reading.
We're looking for a Heavy Civil Laborer who thrives in the field, takes safety seriously, and wants to be part of a team building critical infrastructure throughout Hawai?i. From underground utilities and water systems to major civil construction projects, you'll play a direct role in building the foundations that keep our communities running.
This is not a position for someone who wants to stand around and watch the work happen.
This is for someone who wants to be in the middle of it.
Alpha Inc. is a locally owned Hawai?i company specializing in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions. Every project we take on is an opportunity to strengthen the communities we serve and create lasting impact across the islands.
Everything we do is guided by our three core values:
We look out for one another. Safety, respect, and integrity aren't slogans—they're expectations.
Great projects are built by great teams. We communicate, collaborate, and win together.
We bring grit, accountability, and a commitment to excellence every day, regardless of the task.
If those values sound like you, you'll fit right in.
As a Heavy Civil Laborer, you'll work alongside experienced construction professionals performing critical civil construction and utility installation work on active jobsites throughout Hawai?i.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Performing construction-related labor under the direction of the Foreman and project leadership.
-
Assisting with pipe installation for water, sewer, storm drain, and utility infrastructure projects.
-
Assembling, connecting, and installing underground pipe systems and utility components.
-
Supporting excavation activities, trenching operations, backfilling, grading, and compaction work.
-
Operating hand tools, power tools, compactors, rollers, skid steers, and other construction equipment as authorized.
-
Loading, unloading, transporting, and staging materials, tools, and equipment.
-
Assisting with concrete placement and other underground utility construction activities.
-
Maintaining visual and verbal communication with crew members and equipment operators.
-
Signaling operators during excavation and material placement activities.
-
Performing traffic control and flagging duties when required.
-
Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas.
-
Following all company safety policies, procedures, and project requirements.
-
Supporting the crew wherever needed to ensure project success.
You're not just physically capable—you take ownership, work safely, and contribute positively to the team around you.
- Minimum one (1) year of civil construction experience required.
-
Experience with underground utility installation, trenching, pipe fitting, or related civil construction work preferred.
-
Ability to read and follow directions from supervisors and project leadership.
-
Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship.
-
Ability to work independently while remaining a dependable team member.
-
Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and field conditions.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
-
Previous experience working around heavy equipment and underground utility systems.
-
Traffic control or flagging certification.
-
Equipment operating experience.
This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to:
-
Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds.
-
Frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, and work in uneven terrain.
-
Stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
-
Safely access and exit trenches, excavation areas, and construction equipment.
-
Perform repetitive manual labor throughout the workday.

-
Show up ready to work.
