Position Summary
· We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist to support the financial health and integrity of our organization. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining strong financial processes in a mission-driven, youth focused environment. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in fund-based accounting, ideally in a nonprofit environment or within Scouting America/BSA.
Position Details

Key Responsibilities
· Process daily transactions including AR, revenue from multiple software platforms and bank deposits with accuracy and timeliness
· Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in PeopleSoft accounting software including expense allocation and tracking prepaid expense and deferred revenue
· Track, manage and properly categorize funds including restricted, capital and endowment funds
· Support the development and ongoing maintenance of sound internal financial controls
· Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Required
· Accounting training and experience
· Proven experience with bank reconciliations
· Experience with fund-based accounting
· Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Preferred
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
