About the Role – Housekeeping Supervisor
The Housekeeping Supervisor is a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who supports the daily operations of the housekeeping department and helps maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service. Working closely with the housekeeping management team, this role is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas consistently meet brand standards while fostering a welcoming environment for all guests. The Supervisor provides guidance and support to room attendants and housepersons, promotes efficient workflows, and helps ensure departmental operations run smoothly and effectively throughout each shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide direct support to the housekeeping management team with daily operations and team coordination
- Inspect a minimum of 10 rooms daily, ensuring all standards are met before releasing rooms for sale
- Monitor cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators, and linen closets. This includes 1 documented public area round per shift to be rotated amongst different areas of the hotel.
- Maintain proper par levels of guest room supplies, amenities, and guest‑request items
- Provide direct oversight to Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area Attendants, including a documented cart inspection of every cart each month.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and on-the-job guidance to housekeeping team members to uphold cleanliness, safety, and service standards
- Conduct daily briefings and attend departmental meetings
- Monitor each Room Attendant’s progress throughout the shift and provide corrective coaching when standards are missed
- Perform daily employee standard testing and collect room and floor status sheets
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored
- Conduct inventories of equipment, linen, and glassware
- Coordinate and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion
- Inspect Room Attendant's carts for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems
- Advise the Housekeeping Managers on room conditions, maintenance needs, and overall property cleanliness
- Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly, professionally, and with a sense of urgency
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, and service‑focused demeanor while interacting with guests and colleagues
- Communicate effectively with other departments to support seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences
- Ensure sufficient supplies are available on guest floors and in public areas
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and daily task/room assignments.
- Provide support to F&B and Front Office operations as needed.

Wage Information:
The hourly rate for this position is $26.00/hr. This is the pay rate for this position that Hyatt Regency La Jolla reasonably expects to pay.

Qualifications
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Previous hotel experience is preferred
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
