Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures
- Assist dentists during various treatments including restorations, extractions, endodontics, implants and sedation.
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control standards
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix .
- ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans in a clear, friendly manner
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Dentrix, documentation and record keeping
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with dental imaging including X-ray procedures and 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics
- Familiarity with adult dentistry procedures and caring for young patients in a gentle manner
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical documentation related to general dentistry treatments
- Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times
