Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications and injections safely, including IV infusions, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations like specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Manage catheterization, tube feeding, wound suturing, and sterile techniques to support patient recovery and comfort.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or those requiring hospice or memory care services.
- Support emergency response efforts through first aid, airway management, CPR certification, and acute pain management strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatric units (PICU), or skilled nursing facilities to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related needs.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding is highly desirable.
- Critical care experience preferred—especially in emergency medicine, ICU settings, or trauma centers—along with acute care or hospital experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology to perform accurate patient assessments and documentation.
- Experience in long-term care regulations and skilled nursing facility standards is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for caregiver interaction and client education; ability to work effectively within a team environment.
