You will be instrumental in assisting with patient intake, vital signs, Injections, office procedures and maintaining accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks like sterile office procedures, suture removal and patient education.
- Assisting providers with surgical consent forms and diagnostic order forms.
- Patient/Provider Liaison - Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions using EHR system as well as verbal communication.
- Obtain pre-authorizations for medications and diagnostic testing
- Answering phone, working closely with pharmacies and referring providers
- Preparing patient charts for office visits and obtaining medical records
- HIPAA - Patient confidentiality
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, hospital, outpatient or nursing home clinic setting.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and ICD coding standards.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional experience of medication administration/injections is a plus.
- Hands-on experience working within EHR systems
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection and medication administration is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork, professionalism and accountability is a must!
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
