We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscape Maintenance Division Assistant with strong horticultural knowledge and an eye for design to support our Maintenance Division Manager. This position will provide horticultural expertise, assist with property quality control, support employee training, contribute to planting plans and garden enhancement projects, assist with administrative-related tasks pertaining to the maintenance department.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fine residential gardening, plant care, landscape maintenance, and horticultural problem-solving, along with excellent organizational skills and a strong eye for detail and aesthetics.

General Duties:
- Support the Maintenance Division Manager and Maintenance Managers with horticultural, technical, and design-related needs.
- Work alongside maintenance managers in conducting property visits.
- Provide support to Maintenance Managers and Crew Leaders by researching horticultural concerns, gathering relevant information, and helping coordinate recommended follow-up actions.
- Help develop scopes of work and proposal information for enhancement, planting, and maintenance projects.
- Participate in property walks with Maintenance Managers, the Maintenance Division Manager, the Owner, designers, clients, and other team members as requested.
- Assist with the development and delivery of horticultural and landscape-maintenance training for supervisors, crew leaders, gardeners, and field employees.
- Provide hands-on jobsite coaching in pruning, plant identification, fertilization, irrigation observation, pest identification, garden detailing, and proper tool use.
- Complete and maintain property assessments, field reports, photographs, horticultural recommendations, and pesticide or herbicide usage records.
- Support the Head of the Maintenance Division and Maintenance Managers in reinforcing company safety procedures, identifying field safety concerns, and following up on corrective actions, training needs, and proper use of PPE.
- Assist with documenting and communicating field observations, identified needs, and follow-up items to the Head of the Maintenance Division, Maintenance Managers.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Degree or certificate in horticulture, landscape horticulture, landscape design, or a related field (strongly preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years of fine gardening/landscape maintenance, horticulture or related field (requirement).
- Expertise: Experience maintaining high-end residential landscapes (required).
- Plant care, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, pest identification, and seasonal garden maintenance (required).
- Equipment: Knowledgeable of safe operating practices for landscape-maintenance equipment.
- Driver’s license (requirement)
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and iOS applications (required).
- Languages: English-Spanish Bilingual (strongly preferred)

Compensation:
- Full-time position (40 hrs/week M-F)
- Competitive salary - $70,000 - $90,000/yr (DOE)
