We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Small Engine Maintenance Instructor to teach a short course focused on preparing small engines for winter/spring storage. This course is designed for homeowners, hobbyists, and seasonal equipment users who want to prolong the life of their small engines by learning best practices for off-season care.
Some duties include:
- Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
- Demonstrate proper maintenance and safety technique
- Provide students with checklists, maintenance schedules, and winter prep guides
- Answer questions and support diverse learning styles
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and interactive learning environment
- Be willing to offer the course in the fall & spring
Job Qualifications
- 5 years’ proven experience working with small engines (repair, maintenance, or instruction)
- Strong knowledge of seasonal maintenance practices
- Prior teaching or public speaking experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with both novice and experienced learners
- Certifications (e.g., OPE, STIHL, Briggs & Stratton) are a plus but not required
- Must be fingerprinted
