Instructional Aide (IA) - Classroom Support
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, between 8:00 AM–3:30 PM (up to 29 hrs/week, school calendar)
- Start Date: School Starts Mid August, hiring now
- Locations: School sites in Vista, CA and surrounding areas
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aides (IAs) with experience supporting students or individuals with special needs. This role involves working directly with students with behavioral, physical, and/or developmental needs—either one-on-one or in classroom environments—to implement behavior support strategies and promote positive outcomes. Most assignments are 1:1, with occasional classroom support. You will work at one school site per shift, with many assignments lasting the entire school year. Student placements are matched to your demonstrated experience level.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA
- Provide direct support to students in 1:1 or classroom settings
- Collect and document behavioral data
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
- Attend team meetings and training sessions
- Apply CPI techniques to manage and de-escalate behaviors (training provided if required)
- Ensure student safety and well-being
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months of experience in a related role, such as instructional aide, paraprofessional, classroom aide, ABA therapist, behavioral technician, or similar
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs in structured settings (schools, clinics, camps, after‑school programs, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Training & Support
Onboarding takes 5–7 days, with paid video trainings. Ongoing coaching and professional development are provided.
