Position Summary
WFS is currently looking for Behavioral Support Staff for our School Based Program for our K-8 School located in Upper St. Clair, PA. The Behavioral Support Staff Associate provides one-to-one academic and behavioral health interventions to a designated student in order to promote self management, academic growth, and independent skills in a classroom environment.
This position follows an academic school year calendar (10 months with summers off however paid throughout the summer); Optional Extended School Year program in July; Monday-Friday schedule; Weekends and Holidays Off

Assist the student with participation in classroom activities and educational outings according to the student’s abilities and immediate needs, including assisting with the promotion of positive relationships with staff and peers
Assist in data collection and provide input/recommendations to the Therapist and Teacher for the development and implementation of the Treatment Plan, the Behavior Intervention Plan, FBA and/or PBSP as appropriate for the assigned student
Complete daily documentation of daily behavior, intervention and academic progress, and observations, including completion of daily personal care aide log as indicated
Assist the classroom team in providing therapeutic structure and limits for the student and others as needed
Assist the student with the completion of academic assignments, self-management strategies, communication and social skills
Implement academic and therapeutic interventions to encourage and support self-management skills, e.g. focusing attention, appropriate interactions and participation
Maintain ongoing communication with all members of the treatment team regarding the student’s progress and/or concerns
Qualifications and Skills
Education Minimum of HS diploma/GED with 1 year related experience working directly with children.
or
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with no work experience. Degree preferred to be in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related human services field from an accredited institution. Degrees in any field will be accepted.
Experience Working with children in classroom setting preferred
Work with behavioral or mental health program preferred
Intern experience will be considered
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances
PA criminal background clearance
FBI criminal background clearance (PDE)
PA Child Abuse clearance
Valid PA drivers’ license
Current Certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR preferred
