Vienna Baptist Children's Center is seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Lead Teachers to join our early childhood program.
We currently have two Lead Teacher openings:
Position 1 – One-Year-Old Classroom
- Monday–Friday
- 9:15 AM – 1:45 PM
- 22.5 hours per week
- Starting annual salary: $16,322.88-$20,620.42
Position 2 – Two-Year-Old Classroom
- Monday, Wednesday & Friday
- 9:15 AM – 1:45 PM
- 13.5 hours per week
- Starting annual salary: $10,242.63-$12,939.34

Compensation
Compensation is based on Vienna Baptist Children's Center's established salary schedule and is determined by verified education, credentials, and years of qualifying teaching experience. Higher salary placement is available based on education and verified years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an early childhood classroom.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Foster children's cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development.
- Create a safe, nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with children and families through daily communication.
- Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress.
- Maintain lesson plans and required classroom documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Education licensing regulations and center policies.
- Supervise and collaborate with assistant teachers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
Minimum Qualifications
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required. (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.)
- Minimum of two (2) years of Lead Teacher experience in an early childhood classroom.
- Experience working with one-year-old and/or two-year-old children preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification will be provided upon hire.
- Must successfully complete all required Virginia background checks, fingerprinting, health screening, and employment documentation before beginning employment.
