Kansas Legal Services (KLS) is seeking a dedicated attorney to join our team serving Salina and surrounding communities. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact by providing high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Kansans and helping individuals achieve greater social and economic stability.
About the Position
The Staff Attorney will represent clients in a variety of civil legal matters, with a primary focus on:
· Family law
· Housing law
· Elder law
· Victims’ rights and crime victim advocacy
· Other poverty law issues affecting low-income individuals and families
The successful candidate will work closely with clients facing significant legal challenges and play a vital role in advancing access to justice within the community.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess:
· A current Kansas law license, or eligibility to obtain licensure upon passing the Kansas Bar Examination
· Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
· Strong interpersonal and client service abilities
· A demonstrated commitment to serving low-income and underserved populations
Recent law school graduates preparing to take the Kansas Bar Exam are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits
· Starting salary of $70,000 or higher, depending on experience
