Overview
We are seeking a motivated and organized Part Time Assistant to Borough Clerk / Receptionist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in local government, supporting municipal operations, managing front desk responsibilities, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to ensure smooth daily operations and positive interactions with residents, visitors, and staff. Duties
- Light data entry and filing, as needed, as well as performing clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and organizing and maintaining office supplies for Clerk's office.
- Greet visitors and answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring excellent phone etiquette and prompt assistance, responding to resident inquiries in person or via phone/email with professionalism and clarity.
- Manage front desk operations, including directing calls to the appropriate department and providing information about municipal services, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven office experience with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and general computer literacy essential for daily tasks, such as document creation, correspondence, and record keeping.
- Experience with multi-line phone systems, data entry, filing, and clerical duties preferred.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and strong phone etiquette required. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in customer service or administrative roles is advantageous; personal assistant or office management experience is a plus.
