American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience for a hospital surgical services position in Lexington, KY, requiring cardiovascular and multi-specialty scrub skills.

Hospital surgical services department with a focus on CVOR cases, including CT vascular procedures

Candidates must be versatile and able to scrub across multiple surgical service lines

Second shift schedule: 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM
-
36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day

CVOR call required
-
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program; Associate's Degree preferred
-
BLS certification required
-
CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification through NBSTSA required
-
Experience with CVOR and CT vascular cases strongly preferred based on unit needs

Ability to scrub multiple surgical service lines

License required if applicable

Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the RN, performing scrub and other roles that support the perioperative plan of care

Responsible for aseptic setup and maintenance of the Mayo stand and back table throughout each procedure

Performs and accounts for all required counts prior to, during, and following each procedure

Anticipates surgeon needs and ensures the OR is ready prior to scheduled case start times

Demonstrates knowledge of draping, instrumentation, suture, and surgical equipment
-
Applies principles of aseptic technique including gowning, gloving, sterilization, and disinfection
-
Handles, identifies, and labels medications on the sterile field; properly disposes of sharps
-
Supports patient safety goals in alignment with National Patient Safety Goals and AORN Guidelines

Participates in orientation of new staff or students and contributes to department improvement initiatives
-
Updates surgeon preference cards and maintains awareness of advancements in perioperative practice
