This journeyman-level position involves the layout, fabrication, fitting, installation, modification, testing, and maintenance of process and utility piping, equipment connections, valves, and support systems across various settings, including active manufacturing plants, facility expansions, shutdowns, and heavy commercial construction sites. The ideal applicant will possess the ability to interpret piping isometrics and P&IDs, demonstrate a strong grasp of industrial piping materials and weld fit-up standards, and maintain a steadfast commitment to safety, quality, and precision.

Core Responsibilities-
Analyze and utilize piping isometrics, P&IDs, spool drawings, and project specifications to ensure accurate installation.

Measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, and assemble various piping materials like carbon steel and stainless steel to meet project requirements.

Install essential piping systems, valves, and equipment tie-ins while strictly adhering to approved technical drawings.

Ensure all components, including pipe size, material, and valve orientation, are verified against specifications to promote system integrity.

Collaborate with welders to prepare joints and confirm that fit-up tolerances and bevel geometry meet high-quality standards before welding begins.

Mount and adjust pipe supports and hangers, ensuring structural modifications are coordinated with the relevant trades to maintain system stability.

Partner with rigging teams to facilitate the secure hoisting and positioning of heavy pipe spools and mechanical components.

Assist in the successful completion of hydrostatic or pneumatic testing and system startups to ensure operational readiness.

Execute maintenance tasks and system tie-ins within active facilities while strictly following all site-specific safety and energy-control protocols.

Keep work areas and tools organized while proactively reporting any safety hazards or material discrepancies to management.
Physical Requirements-
Capacity to climb, maintain balance, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate in confined or elevated spaces.

Proficiency in coordinating hand-eye movements while operating specialized cutting, threading, and material-handling machinery.

Capability to handle physically demanding tasks such as kneeling, crouching, and reaching while maneuvering heavy piping materials.

Required Qualifications-
At least 3 years of professional experience in industrial construction pipefitting.

Proven journeyman-level proficiency; NCCER certification is preferred, though equivalent verified experience is acceptable.

Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings and perform necessary trade math for field measurements.

Comprehensive understanding of piping classes, fittings, bolting requirements, and installation tolerances.

Deep knowledge of industrial welding practices, allowing you to identify and correct fit-up deficiencies to ensure high-quality weld outcomes.

Background in process piping, equipment tie-ins, and shutdown activities, with basic digital literacy for documentation preferred.

Operational Guidelines-
A formal license is not required, provided you demonstrate journeyman-level skills and meet project-specific criteria.

Piping & Multi-Trade Duties-
Fabricate and install diverse utility and process piping systems, including steam, water, and chemical lines.
