POSITION DESCRIPTION: Host
STATUS: Full-Time, Year-Round
WAGE: $11/hr + Service Charge ($20 Minimum Hourly Wage Guaranteed)
LOCATION: Courchevel, a Talisker Club Bistro
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Host is the face of the restaurant, helping maintain an efficient and courteous operation by greeting arriving Members and seating, establishing rapport and assisting with restaurant service. Receives and accurately processes payment for restaurant charges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything. Key responsibilities for this position are:
- Meets arriving Members as they enter the restaurant with a cordial greeting.
- Exhibits a professional appearance and maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Escorts Members to assigned tables, introduces server, issues menus and facilitates the accommodation of special requests.
- Circulates periodically through the restaurant to assist servers, respond to any Member requests and to assess the efficiency of the restaurant for management.
- Receives to-go orders, enters into the POS and verifies the accuracy of the order.
- Ensures that all charge vouchers are completely filled out with the correct Member name and number.
- Assisting with vacuuming, sweeping, general cleaning and side-work duties in order to maintain a clean and attractive restaurant.
- Checks all restrooms for cleanliness and supplies throughout shift and takes corrective action as needed..
- Checks the proper set-up of tables and seating prior to opening of the restaurant.
- Assists Servers and Bussers by accommodating Guests' dining requests and clearing and cleaning tables, resetting tables, and retrieving supplies.
- Provides assistance to other employees in order to contribute to the Restaurant's best overall performance.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Positive attitude and be able to work well with other team members
- Utah Food Handlers Permit
- High School Education
- Be able to work unsupervised
- Be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel
- Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry heavy objects.
- Ability to withstand external elements relating to changing weather conditions.
