Duties
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
- Prepare food items with precision using proper knife skills, slicing techniques, and cooking methods
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness by adhering to strict cleaning schedules for workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and ensure timely delivery of orders
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality and presentation standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of the food industry standards
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with safety standards in production, including food safety management and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal plans during preparation
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff
- Experience with catering or large-scale meal service is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and general culinary experience
