Optometrist
Location: Warm Springs, OR 97761
Pay Rate: $75 per hour + 1,246 weekly travel stipends (if applicable)
Schedule: Services may be requested up to five (5) days estimated per week, depending upon clinic need and Government scheduling requirements - up to 1920 hrs for the year
Contract Length: 1 year
- Federal contract in bidding process open for locals and travelers.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care services at an IHS facility in Warm Springs, OR. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment while supporting underserved communities through high-quality vision care and clinical services.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program in the United States or Canada
- Current Board Certification in Optometry
- Active, unrestricted Optometry license in any U.S. state or territory
- Ability to practice independently
- DEA registration preferred but not required
- Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to meet IHS credentialing, onboarding, and background requirements
Responsibilities:
- Providing clinically appropriate and timely optometry services in accordance with accepted professional standards of care .
- Maintaining complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Demonstrating professionalism and effective communication with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Complying with all applicable IHS policies, procedures, credentialing requirements, infection control standards, and patient privacy requirements.
- Coordinating referrals, follow-up care, and ancillary services in a timely manner.
- Maintaining active licensure, certifications, and credentials throughout the period of performance
- Providing services in a manner that supports patient satisfaction, continuity of care, and clinic operational efficiency.
Pay: From $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
