American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.
-
Work on a Medical/Surgical Oncology Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital setting
-
Care for patients with soft tissue malignancies receiving diagnostic services, chemotherapy, and symptom management
-
Provide continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration
-
Manage patients with comorbidities and disease-related symptom progression
-
Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
-
Utilizes B450 GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
12-hour rotating shifts covering days, nights, or a combination based on department needs, reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, current within the last 12 months and specific to this specialty

BLS certification required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Oncology experience preferred but not required
-
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Experience accessing and managing ports
-
Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line care/management
-
Skilled in IV starts and blood product administration
-
Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal
-
Experience managing high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and interpreting ABGs
-
Experience with PCA medication management preferred
-
Experience titrating insulin drips preferred
-
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care preferred
-
Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and cardiac monitoring
-
Willingness to learn and grow nursing practice is welcomed

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system

RTO must be submitted with the contract and built in, limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
