Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemist, specializing in Personal Care products, to join our dynamic team. This role helps ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA regulations, and ISO standards within our contract manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for product development testing, in-process manufacturing testing, documentation, and process monitoring to maintain product integrity and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication both verbally and in written forms to distribute notifying document releases, changes, and obsolescence. The role requires high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments using standard laboratory protocols (e.g., pH, viscosity, stability testing).
- Prepare and evaluate prototypes for internal stakeholders and consumer testing projects.
- Maintain precise documentation for raw materials, batch records, and test results in line with regulatory standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 211, ISO 22716).
- Perform routine and advanced laboratory tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments in accordance with SOPs and GLP guidelines. Help prepare SOPs and GLP as needed.
- Collaborate with R&D Scientists, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing teams to refine formulations and align with brand strategy.
- Monitor industry trends, ingredient innovations, and regulatory updates to support formulation creativity and compliance.
- Participate in process validation activities and technical transfer to production teams.
- Conduct inspections of raw materials at various stage of development and in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform routine testing following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining training records for quality personnel.
- Participate in internal audits and assist in regulatory inspections.
- Monitor manufacturing processes as needed for process improvement.
- Assist in investigating product defects, customer complaints, and non-conformances as required.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration compliance.
- Collaborates other teams to improve quality processes.
- Complete other work assigned.

Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in personal care, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical R&D preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP, ISO 9001, and ICH guidelines.
- Experience with QMS software and electronic documentation systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
