Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and have experience with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while efficiently processing transactions and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection
- Process sales transactions using the POS system, ensuring accuracy in pricing and discounts
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including merchandising displays
- Assist with stocking shelves and inventory management as needed
- Utilize effective phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries via phone
Requirements
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Experience in merchandising and stocking is a plus
