Role: Nurse Consultant/Educator
Position Summary
The Nurse Consultant/Educator will support long-term care communities by providing resident assessments, staff education, competency evaluations, and ongoing clinical training. Edgeway Pharmacy services long-term care facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. This role is ideal for a nursing professional who enjoys teaching, mentoring care teams, and promoting high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct quarterly resident assessments for long-term care residents.
· Provide medication administration training for untrained personnel staff.
· Complete medication administration competency evaluations.
· Deliver Personal Care Assistant training and competency evaluations for long-term care staff.
· Provide basic nursing education focused on resident care, clinical skills, and long-term care best practices.
· Offer continuing education as needed, both in person and through an online education platform.
· Serve as a resource and mentor for staff to support safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
· QuickMar inservice at facilities.
· Proficiency with medication reviews.
· Medication cart audits to ensure long-term care facilities stay compliant with sate regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
· Current nursing license in good standing.
· Experience in long-term care, assisted living, skilled nursing, or a related healthcare setting.
· Strong teaching, coaching, and communication skills.
· Ability to complete staff competency evaluations and provide constructive education.
· CPR Instructor Certification preferred.
· Comfortable delivering education both in person and through an online learning platform.
Travel and Support
A company vehicle will be provided, and approved work-related expenses will be paid.
Employment Type: Full time position
Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
